Here's your step-by-step guide to getting your club, charity or organisation online with Communities @ Calderdale-Online.

1 Gather up the information and pictures you want to put on your site.

2 Appoint someone in your organisation to be the contact person.

3 You will be asked to agree to the standard terms and conditions and then presented with a registration form.

Completing this form is a one-time step. It will ask you for an address, phone number and email address of your group or an appointed contact person.

You will also be asked to choose an identification name (for instance, Elland Stamp Club) and a password. These details will be needed later by anyone wishing to add or remove details from your site.

Finally, the registration form will ask you to pick the category in which your site will be listed.

You can choose from:

That's it. You'll be assigned your unique web address (it will be something like http://www.calderdale-online.org/community/yourclubname) and you can create your first page.

At this point you can also choose to add a message forum (accessible as a link from your site or via http://www.calderdale-online.org/chat ) or access an events calendar linked to your site. Don't worry if you're not sure: you can go back and change these options later.

When you're ready, a form will appear on screen for you to enter all the words and pictures for your first page. You don't need to worry about layout or formatting: it's all done for you.

Remember, if you get stuck, there's a complete online help file; just click any of the on-screen question marks.
