Possibly Halifax's best known historic house, Shibden Hall, has over 500 years of history and was built in the 1400's. It is now a museum.
The Shibden Estate comprises of over 37 Hectares that include a boating lake, miniature railway, which are open in the summer months, Pitch 'n' Putt, children's play area and park and gardens.
Having taken in the scenic surroundings and fed the ducks there are refreshments available at a kiosk by the boating lake or a café up at the hall. There are plenty of toilets, park benches, picnic tables and parking to help you on your way to having an enjoyable day.
